  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and add the sugar, stirring until it becomes a caramel color.
  3. Add the sliced apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice to the skillet, cooking until the apples are tender.
  4. Roll out the pie crust on a baking sheet and create a slight border around the edges.
  5. Spoon the caramelized apple mixture onto the center of the crust.
  6. Fold the edges of the crust over the apples, pleating as necessary.
  7. Brush the crust with the beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.
