Ingredients

  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a doughnut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the apple cider, granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, and eggs until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fill the doughnut pan with the batter, about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the doughnuts cool for a few minutes before removing them from the pan.
  8. In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon for coating.
  9. While the doughnuts are still warm, coat them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
