- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup diced apples (peeled and cored)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, mix the applesauce, milk, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Gently fold in the diced apples.
- Fill each donut cavity about 2/3 full with the batter.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider sprinkling some cinnamon sugar on top of the donuts after baking.
- These donuts can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Feel free to substitute the apples with other fruits like pears or berries.
