Ingredients
(Makes 1 cocktail)
-
๐ฅ 1 oz dark rum (preferably Jamaican or Caribbean)
-
๐ฅ 1 oz coconut rum (like Malibu)
-
๐ฅ 1 oz light rum (white rum)
-
๐ 2 oz pineapple juice (fresh or high-quality canned)
-
๐ 1 oz orange juice (freshly squeezed recommended)
-
๐ 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
-
๐ 1/2 oz grenadine syrup (for sweetness and vibrant color)
-
๐ง Ice cubes
-
๐ Pineapple slice and maraschino cherry (for garnish)
-
๐ฟ Fresh mint leaves (optional garnish)
Instructions
Add plenty of ice to a cocktail shaker to ensure your drink comes out chilled and refreshing.
Pour in the dark rum, coconut rum, and light rum, layering the bases for that classic Bahama Mama depth.
Add pineapple juice, orange juice, and freshly squeezed lemon juice to the shaker. These citrusy, tropical juices give the cocktail its refreshing zing.
Add grenadine slowlyโit will give the drink a beautiful sunset color and a touch of sweetness to balance the citrus.
Seal your shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds. This mixes all the ingredients thoroughly and chills the cocktail perfectly.
Strain into a tall glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a pineapple slice, a maraschino cherry, and a sprig of fresh mint for that tropical flair.
Notes
-
Use fresh citrus juices wherever possibleโbottled juices can alter the brightness of the cocktail.
-
If you prefer a sweeter drink, increase grenadine or add a splash of simple syrup.
-
Dark rum provides richness and depth; donโt substitute it with only light rum or the drink will lack character.
