Ingredients
Serves: 1
-
½ cup peach nectar
-
½ cup lemonade (store-bought or homemade)
-
½ cup lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7UP)
-
Splash of grenadine
-
Ice cubes
Garnish (optional but recommended):
-
Peach slice or peach ball
-
Fresh mint sprig
-
Lemon wheel
-
Straw (optional, but enhances the layered look when served)
Instructions
Step 1: Fill Your Glass
Choose a tall glass—preferably a clear highball or hurricane glass to showcase the layers. Fill it about two-thirds full with ice cubes. The ice not only chills the drink but also helps slow the mixing of ingredients to preserve the layered effect.
Step 2: Pour the Base
Add ½ cup of peach nectar to the glass, followed by ½ cup of lemonade. Stir gently to blend the two fruit bases together for a sweet-tart foundation.
Step 3: Add the Fizz
Pour in ½ cup of lemon-lime soda. Do this slowly and gently to preserve carbonation while helping the drink float slightly above the nectar-lemonade mixture.
Step 4: Create the Sunset Effect
Using the back of a spoon, slowly pour a splash of grenadine into the drink. It will settle at the bottom, creating a vivid, sunset-like gradient from red to peachy-orange to pale yellow at the top.
Step 5: Garnish and Serve
Top the glass with a fresh peach slice, peach ball, or a lemon wheel. Add a straw for easier sipping and visual appeal. Serve immediately while it’s cold and sparkling.
Notes
Mocktails are no longer just an afterthought for non-drinkers—they’re becoming a serious category in the world of craft beverages. The Beach Peach Lemonade represents what a great mocktail should be: vibrant, flavorful, festive, and worthy of a celebration.
Peach nectar adds body and richness, while lemonade brings brightness and tartness. The soda provides the effervescence that mimics cocktails. And grenadine gives both flavor and beauty. This drink mirrors the complexity and balance of a well-made alcoholic drink, but with a sweet, family-friendly twist.
