- 2 cups fresh blackberries
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine blackberries, sugar, and lemon juice over medium heat.
- Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to bubble.
- Cook for about 10 minutes, mashing the blackberries with a fork.
- Add the chopped basil and vanilla extract, stirring to combine.
- Continue to cook for another 5-10 minutes until the jam thickens.
- Remove from heat and let cool before transferring to jars.
Notes
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- This jam can also be canned for longer storage.
- Adjust the sugar according to your taste preference.
