  • Author: Jessica
  • Total Time: 75 minutes
  • Yield: 1 loaf (about 10 slices) 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Buttery Snickerdoodle Bread is a delightful treat that combines the rich, creamy texture of butter with the warm, comforting flavors of cinnamon and sugar. Each slice offers a soft, tender crumb that melts in your mouth, leaving a sweet, nostalgic taste reminiscent of classic snickerdoodle cookies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Bread:
    • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • ½ teaspoon baking soda
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
    • 3 large eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the Cinnamon Sugar Topping:
    • ¼ cup granulated sugar
    • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, then sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over it.
  7. Pour the remaining batter on top and finish with the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture.
  8. Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. The top should be golden brown and slightly domed.
  9. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • This bread can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature.
  • For longer storage, wrap the cooled bread tightly in plastic wrap and freeze for up to 3 months.
  • You can substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a healthier option.
