    • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
    • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • Grains:
    • 1/2 cup uncooked rice (white or brown)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the minced garlic, diced carrot, and bell pepper, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in the ground meat, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the chopped cabbage, broth, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
  5. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. After 30 minutes, add the uncooked rice and continue to simmer for another 20 minutes, or until the rice is tender.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary before serving hot.

Notes
