- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Caramel sauce for glazing
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your donut pan thoroughly.
- Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Combine the apple cider, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
- Fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Spoon the batter into the donut pan cavities, filling each about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool them in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Drizzle with caramel sauce while still warm.
Notes
For a healthier alternative, substitute whole wheat flour or half of the butter with unsweetened applesauce.
