- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Cream the butter and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until smooth (about 3-5 minutes).
- Beat in the vanilla extract until fully combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Spread half of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
- Pour caramel sauce over the dough, then sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Crumble the remaining dough over the caramel and chocolate.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown, allowing edges to firm up while keeping the center soft.
- Cool the bars in the pan before cutting into squares.
