Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Cream the butter and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until smooth (about 3-5 minutes).
  3. Beat in the vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  6. Spread half of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
  7. Pour caramel sauce over the dough, then sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  8. Crumble the remaining dough over the caramel and chocolate.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown, allowing edges to firm up while keeping the center soft.
  10. Cool the bars in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

These bars can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week in the fridge or frozen for up to three months.
