- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish.
- Sprinkle half of the cheese over the potatoes.
- In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, milk, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika; heat until warm.
- Pour half of the cream mixture over the layered potatoes and cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cheese, and cream mixture.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add chopped onions or herbs between the layers.
- Let the dish sit for a few minutes before serving to set.
- Can be made ahead and reheated before serving.
