Cherry Almond Crumble Bars are a delightful dessert featuring a sweet cherry filling topped with a crunchy almond crumble.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the cherries with granulated sugar and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, combine almond flour, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, melted butter, almond extract, vanilla extract, and salt to form a crumbly mixture.
  4. Press half of the crumble mixture into the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  5. Spread the cherry mixture evenly over the crust.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture on top of the cherries.
  7. Top with sliced almonds.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with gluten-free flour.
