- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup carrots, diced
- 1 cup celery, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine chicken pieces, chicken broth, carrots, celery, onion, and black pepper. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer until chicken is cooked through, about 30 minutes.
- Remove chicken from the pot, shred it, and return it to the pot.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in melted butter and milk until just combined.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dumpling mixture into the simmering broth.
- Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes until dumplings are fluffy and cooked through.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
