Description

A cozy Christmas Eve Lasagna that blends savory meats, creamy ricotta, and bubbling cheese, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 lasagna noodles, cooked to al dente
  • 1 lb ground beef or sausage
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions.
  3. Drain the noodles and set aside.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and add the ground meat.
  5. Brown the meat for about 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Season with salt and pepper, then add the marinara sauce and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. Mix the ricotta cheese, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl until smooth.
  8. Assemble the lasagna in a baking dish: start with a layer of meat sauce, followed by noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella.
  9. Repeat the layers and finish with meat sauce topped with Parmesan.
  10. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  11. Uncover and continue to bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is golden brown.
  12. Let the lasagna rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For the best flavor, prepare the lasagna a day in advance and refrigerate it. You can also use no-boil lasagna noodles for quicker prep.
