- 9 lasagna noodles, cooked to al dente
- 1 lb ground beef or sausage
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions.
- Drain the noodles and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and add the ground meat.
- Brown the meat for about 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Season with salt and pepper, then add the marinara sauce and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Mix the ricotta cheese, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl until smooth.
- Assemble the lasagna in a baking dish: start with a layer of meat sauce, followed by noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella.
- Repeat the layers and finish with meat sauce topped with Parmesan.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Uncover and continue to bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is golden brown.
- Let the lasagna rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For the best flavor, prepare the lasagna a day in advance and refrigerate it. You can also use no-boil lasagna noodles for quicker prep.
