A delightful fusion of cinnamon rolls and focaccia, featuring a soft, airy texture and decadent flavors, crowned with a sweet glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast: Pour warm water into a bowl, sprinkle the yeast, and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix the dough: In a mixing bowl, combine flour, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, and salt; create a well, add olive oil and yeast mixture, and mix until sticky.
  3. Knead the dough: Transfer to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Roll the risen dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick, brushing the surface with melted butter.
  7. Mix cinnamon and brown sugar in a bowl and sprinkle evenly over dough.
  8. Roll dough tightly into a log, slice it into swirls, and arrange in a greased baking dish.
  9. Cover and let the swirls rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Drizzle the glaze made of powdered sugar and milk over warm focaccia.

Notes

For added richness, serve with cream cheese frosting or enjoy with coffee and fresh fruit.
