Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. In a separate bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts to create the streusel topping.
  8. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, sprinkle half of the streusel topping, then add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the streusel.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use buttermilk instead of regular milk.
  • This cake can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
