Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine water, 2 tablespoons sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in flour until a dough forms.
- Let the dough cool slightly, then mix in eggs one at a time until smooth.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
- Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
- Pipe strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them to your desired length.
- Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove churros and drain on paper towels.
- Mix 1/2 cup sugar with cinnamon in a bowl and coat the churros.
- For the chocolate sauce, heat heavy cream in a saucepan and pour over chocolate chips. Stir until smooth.
- Serve churros warm with chocolate sauce for dipping.
