Description

Crafting Crockpot French Dip Sandwiches results in a mouthwatering experience where tender, slow-cooked beef meets the rich, savory flavors of au jus. The soft, crusty bread cradles the juicy meat, while the melted cheese adds a creamy texture that elevates each bite to pure bliss.

Ingredients

  • Beef: 3 pounds of chuck roast, trimmed and cut into large chunks
  • Seasonings: 1 tablespoon of garlic powder, 1 tablespoon of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of salt
  • Liquid: 2 cups of beef broth, 1 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • Bread: 6 hoagie rolls or French baguettes, sliced lengthwise
  • Cheese: 6 slices of provolone or Swiss cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Rub the mixture all over the chuck roast.
  2. Place the seasoned beef in the crockpot and pour in the beef broth, water, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is fork-tender.
  4. Once cooked, shred the beef using two forks and return it to the crockpot, mixing it with the juices.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Place the hoagie rolls on a baking sheet, fill each with shredded beef, and top with a slice of cheese.
  7. Bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve hot with a small bowl of the au jus for dipping.
