Ingredients

- Parmesan cheese: 1/2 cup, grated
- Butter: 2 tablespoons, for greasing

- Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon
- Nutmeg: 1/4 teaspoon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter.
- In a large bowl, combine the heavy cream, milk, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, then pour half of the cream mixture over them.
- Sprinkle half of the Gruyère cheese over the first layer.
- Repeat with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and Gruyère cheese.
- Top with grated Parmesan cheese.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
