  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup crispy fried onions

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat and add sliced onions. Cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir to combine, cooking for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in beef broth and bring to a simmer, then add heavy cream and stir until smooth.
  5. Stir in the cooked macaroni and mix well.
  6. Add Gruyère and mozzarella cheese, stirring until melted and creamy.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
