- 1 ounce freeze-dried strawberries
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar for glaze
- 2 tablespoons milk for glaze
Instructions
- Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Incorporate the vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the flour until just combined.
- Crush the freeze-dried strawberries into powder and fold into the dough.
- Shape the dough into a log or roll out to 1/2 inch thick and cut into shapes. Refrigerate for 30 minutes if using the log method.
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C). Slice or cut out the cookies and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 18-22 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on a wire rack.
- Prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar and milk.
- Glaze the cooled cookies and let set before serving.
