  • Author: Jessica
  • Total Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

These ingredients come together to form a powerhouse of tropical flavor:

???? For the Strawberry Daiquiri Layer:

  • ???? 1 cup frozen strawberries

  • ???? 1 oz fresh lime juice

  • ???? 1 oz simple syrup (or to taste)

  • ???? 2 oz white rum

  • ???? 1 cup crushed ice

???? For the Piña Colada Layer:

  • ???? 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks

  • ???? 2 oz cream of coconut

  • ???? 2 oz white rum (or coconut rum for extra flavor)

  • ???? 1 oz pineapple juice

  • ???? 1 cup crushed ice

???? Garnishes:

  • ???? Fresh strawberries

  • ???? Pineapple wedge

  • ???? Shredded coconut (optional rim garnish)

  • ???? Maraschino cherry

  • ???? Colorful straw or umbrella for flair

Instructions

Step 1:
Prepare the Strawberry Daiquiri Layer.
In a high-powered blender, combine frozen strawberries, lime juice, simple syrup, white rum, and crushed ice. Blend until smooth and slushy. Pour into a separate container and place in the freezer while you prepare the next layer.

Step 2:
Prepare the Piña Colada Layer.
Rinse the blender, then add frozen pineapple chunks, cream of coconut, white or coconut rum, pineapple juice, and crushed ice. Blend until creamy and thick.

Step 3:
Assemble the Layers.
In a tall hurricane or cocktail glass, alternate pouring layers of the strawberry daiquiri and piña colada mixes to create a swirl. Use a spoon to gently marble the two for a mixed visual effect, or keep them cleanly separated.

Step 4:
Garnish.
Top with a pineapple wedge, a strawberry, a maraschino cherry, and an optional cocktail umbrella for full tropical flair.

Step 5:
Serve Immediately.
Frozen cocktails are best served fresh, so enjoy right after assembling.

Notes

These frozen layers are easy to master with a few tips:

  • Use frozen fruits instead of fresh with ice to avoid watery texture.

  • Adjust the consistency with more or less ice depending on your preference.

  • For a beautiful swirl, ensure both layers are thick enough to hold their shape.
