Instructions
- Preheat the waffle maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions and coat the plates with cooking spray or melted butter.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt until well blended.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in the mini chocolate chips evenly into the batter.
- Pour an appropriate amount of batter onto the center of the preheated waffle maker and close the lid.
- Cook for 4 to 6 minutes or until steam diminishes and waffles are cooked through.
- Carefully remove the waffles and transfer to a cooling rack.

Notes
For a make-ahead option, prepare the batter and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight. You can also bake the batter in a greased baking dish at 350°F for 15-18 minutes.
