- Chocolate Layer:
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Mint Layer:
- 2 cups white chocolate chips
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
- Green food coloring (as needed)
- 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies (for topping)
Instructions
- Line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Stir until melted and smooth, about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Refrigerate for 30 minutes until set.
- In another saucepan, melt the white chocolate chips over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth, about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the peppermint extract and green food coloring until desired color is achieved.
- Pour the mint layer over the set chocolate layer and spread evenly. Sprinkle crushed peppermint candies on top.
- Refrigerate for an additional 1-2 hours until fully set.
- Once set, lift the fudge out of the dish using the parchment paper and cut into squares.
Notes
- This fudge can be made up to a week in advance and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- For a different flavor, substitute the peppermint extract with orange or almond extract.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
