These Ham and Havarti Cheese Sliders are a delightful combination of juicy, savory ham and creamy Havarti cheese, all nestled in soft, buttery rolls. Each bite offers a satisfying contrast of textures, with the warm, melty cheese perfectly complementing the tender ham, creating a mouthwatering experience that is both comforting and indulgent.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Sliders:
    • 12 slider rolls, preferably Hawaiian sweet rolls
    • 1 pound sliced ham
    • 8 ounces Havarti cheese, sliced
  • For the Butter Mixture:
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
    • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
    • 1 tablespoon honey
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, honey, garlic powder, onion powder, and poppy seeds until well combined.
  3. Slice the entire pack of slider rolls in half horizontally, keeping the tops and bottoms connected.
  4. Place the bottom half of the rolls in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Layer the sliced ham evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
  6. Top the ham with the slices of Havarti cheese.
  7. Place the top half of the rolls back on and brush the butter mixture generously over the tops of the rolls.
  8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  10. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Make-ahead: You can assemble the sliders a day in advance and store them in the refrigerator. Just add an extra 5-10 minutes to the baking time if baking from cold.
  • Storage: Leftover sliders can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Substitutions: Swap out the ham for turkey or roast beef, and use cheddar or gouda cheese for different flavor profiles.
