Description

Hot Fudge Sundae Cupcakes are a delicious dessert that combines the rich flavors of chocolate cupcakes with a gooey hot fudge center, topped with whipped cream and a cherry.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup hot fudge sauce
  • Whipped cream for topping
  • Maraschino cherries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  4. Fill each cupcake liner halfway with the batter.
  5. Place a spoonful of hot fudge sauce in the center of each cupcake.
  6. Top with more batter until the liners are about 3/4 full.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Let the cupcakes cool before topping with whipped cream and a cherry.

Notes

  • For an extra chocolatey flavor, you can add chocolate chips to the batter.
  • Make sure the hot fudge sauce is warm when adding to the cupcakes.
