- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup hot fudge sauce
- Whipped cream for topping
- Maraschino cherries for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Fill each cupcake liner halfway with the batter.
- Place a spoonful of hot fudge sauce in the center of each cupcake.
- Top with more batter until the liners are about 3/4 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the cupcakes cool before topping with whipped cream and a cherry.
Notes
- For an extra chocolatey flavor, you can add chocolate chips to the batter.
- Make sure the hot fudge sauce is warm when adding to the cupcakes.
- These cupcakes can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
