Jawbreaker Shock Shots

  • Author: Jessica
  • Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

Scale

For the Shot:

  • 1 oz cotton candy vodka (or vanilla vodka for a milder twist)

  • ½ oz sour apple schnapps

  • ½ oz blue curaçao

  • ½ oz watermelon pucker (or cherry liqueur)

  • Splash of lemon-lime soda or soda water (for fizz)

  • Dash of grenadine (for visual layering)

  • Ice (shaken or built over)

For the Rim:

  • Simple syrup or lemon juice (to stick the garnish)

  • Crushed jawbreakers or pop rocks candy

  • Optional: Edible glitter or colored sugar

Optional Garnishes:

  • Mini jawbreaker candy on a cocktail pick

  • Cotton candy puff

  • Glow-in-the-dark stirrers

  • Neon shot glasses

Instructions

Step 1: Prep Your Rim

  • Pour crushed candy or pop rocks onto a small plate.

  • Lightly dip each shot glass rim into simple syrup or lemon juice, then dip into the candy to coat the edge.

  • Set aside to dry slightly.

Step 2: Layer Your Liquids

  • In a shaker filled with ice, combine cotton candy vodka, sour apple schnapps, and blue curaçao.

  • Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until chilled.

  • Strain halfway into shot glasses.

Step 3: Add the Burst

  • Gently pour watermelon pucker or cherry liqueur for a swirling effect.

  • Carefully drizzle a small amount of grenadine to settle at the bottom for a “shock” of color.

  • Finish with a splash of lemon-lime soda to add bubbles and make the colors dance.

Step 4: Garnish & Serve

  • Drop in a mini jawbreaker or candy stick.

  • Add a pinch of edible glitter or cotton candy on top if serving immediately.

  • Serve with a neon straw or glow stirrer for maximum party vibes

Notes

  • Layering tip: To create distinct layers, pour each liquor slowly over the back of a spoon.

  • Crushing candy: Use a food processor or rolling pin to gently crush jawbreakers or pop rocks.

  • Make-ahead tip: You can rim the glasses and mix the base liquid in advance. Just add the soda and garnishes right before serving to maintain fizz
