Ingredients
These ingredients come together to form a powerhouse of flavor:
-
???? 2 oz Kahlúa (coffee liqueur)
-
???? 1 oz orange liqueur (like Triple Sec, Cointreau, or Grand Marnier)
-
???? 1 oz heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
-
???? 1 oz vanilla vodka (optional, for extra richness and a dessert boost)
-
???? Ice cubes (for shaking or blending)
-
???? Orange zest or orange slice, for garnish
-
???? Chocolate syrup (optional drizzle for the glass or topping)
-
???? Mint sprig (optional, for aromatic contrast)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare Your Glass
Chill a coupe or rocks glass. Optional: drizzle chocolate syrup on the inside of the glass and let it set for a dramatic swirl.
Step 2: Add Ingredients to Shaker
In a cocktail shaker, combine Kahlúa, orange liqueur, cream, and vanilla vodka. Add ice.
Step 3: Shake Vigorously
Shake for about 15–20 seconds until the mixture is well chilled and slightly frothy.
Step 4: Strain and Serve
Strain into your chilled glass (neat or over fresh ice depending on preference).
Step 5: Garnish and Enjoy
Garnish with a twist of orange zest, a fresh orange slice on the rim, or even a small scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
Notes
This cocktail is easy to master but here are a few insider tips:
-
???? Always use cold cream and chilled liqueurs for best consistency.
-
⚖️ Balance is key — don’t overdo the orange liqueur or it will overpower the Kahlúa.
-
❌ Avoid using low-fat milk; it will separate and water down the drink.
-
???? Shaking is preferred over stirring to properly emulsify the cream.
-
???? Serve immediately after shaking to preserve texture and flavor
