Description

A delightful sandwich merging savory Korean bulgogi flavors with the creaminess of melted cheese, all within a toasty hoagie roll.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup kimchi, chopped
  • 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 cup bell peppers (any color), sliced
  • 4 slices provolone or American cheese
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tsp vegetable oil
  • Optional: minced garlic and sugar for marinade

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Slice the beef, onion, and bell peppers thinly.
  2. Marinate the Beef: In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and sugar. Coat the beef and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Sauté the Veggies: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, add onions and bell peppers, and sauté for about 5 minutes.
  4. Cook the Beef: Move veggies to one side, add marinated beef, cooking for about 5 minutes until browned.
  5. Add the Kimchi: Mix in chopped kimchi and heat through for an additional 2 minutes.
  6. Assemble the Cheesesteak: Toast hoagie rolls, fill with bulgogi mixture, top with cheese, and broil for about 2 minutes until the cheese melts.

Notes

Make-ahead by marinating beef a day in advance for deeper flavor. Customize with toppings like jalapeños or avocado.
