Equipment Needed
-
Cocktail shaker
-
Jigger or measuring tool
-
Martini glass (chilled)
-
Fine mesh strainer (if needed)
-
Citrus press or juicer
-
Plate + sugar for rimming
Instructions
🍋 Step 1: Prep Your Glass
Chill your martini glass in the freezer for at least 10 minutes. For a sugared rim, rub a lemon wedge along the rim and dip it in superfine sugar.
🍋 Step 2: Shake the Cocktail
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine:
-
2 oz limoncello
-
1 oz vodka
-
½ oz lemon juice
-
½ oz of your chosen creamy component
-
Optional: ½ oz simple syrup (if you like it sweeter)
Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until the shaker is icy cold.
🍋 Step 3: Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into your chilled martini glass. The color will be a pale, creamy yellow.
🍋 Step 4: Garnish
Add a twist of lemon zest or a lemon wheel. A sprig of thyme or edible flower adds elegance if desired.
Notes
✔️ Use quality limoncello – Homemade or premium brands from Italy offer the best flavor.
✔️ Fresh lemon juice is key – Bottled lemon juice just won’t give you that same brightness.
✔️ Adjust sweetness – Some limoncellos are quite sweet, so balance with more lemon juice if needed.
