Description

Maple Apple Butter is a deliciously unique spread made from apples and maple syrup, perfect for toast, pancakes, or as a filling for pastries.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups of peeled and chopped apples
  • 1 cup of pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon of allspice
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the chopped apples and lemon juice.
  2. Add the maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice to the pot.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft, about 20 minutes.
  4. Use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for an additional 30-40 minutes, stirring frequently, until thickened.
  6. Transfer to sterilized jars and let cool before sealing.
