Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and sugar over low heat, stirring until combined.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the graham cracker crumbs until well mixed.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×9 inch pan to form the shortbread layer.
  4. In another saucepan, heat the sweetened condensed milk and caramel over low heat until smooth.
  5. Pour the caramel mixture over the shortbread layer and spread evenly.
  6. Melt the semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips together in a microwave or double boiler.
  7. Pour the melted chocolate over the caramel layer and spread evenly.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set.
  9. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet.
