- 4 slices thick-cut turkey bacon
- 1 cup German-style beer cheese
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon whole grain mustard
- 1 cup fresh arugula
- 4 pretzel buns
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter (for sautéing onions)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or skillet to medium-high heat.
- Gently form the ground beef into 4 equal-sized patties, season each patty with salt and pepper.
- Cook the turkey bacon in the skillet until crispy, then transfer to a plate.
- Sauté sliced onions in the same skillet with olive oil or butter until caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
- Grill or cook the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, topping each with beer cheese in the last minute to melt.
- Toast the pretzel buns until golden.
- Assemble the burger with mustard on the bottom bun, add the patty, bacon, caramelized onions, and arugula, then top with the other half of the bun.
