Description

This Orange Ginger Marmalade offers a delightful balance of sweet and tangy flavors, with a velvety texture that spreads effortlessly on toast. The bright citrus notes are beautifully complemented by the warm, spicy kick of ginger, creating a sensory experience that awakens the palate.


Ingredients

  • Oranges: 4 large, zested and juiced
  • Fresh Ginger: 2 tablespoons, finely grated
  • Sugar: 3 cups
  • Water: 1 cup
  • Fresh Lemon Juice: 1/4 cup
  • Pectin: 1 package (1.75 oz)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the orange juice, zest, grated ginger, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sugar and lemon juice, stirring until dissolved. Return to a rolling boil.
  3. Stir in the pectin and boil for an additional 5 minutes, or until the mixture thickens and reaches 220°F (104°C).
  4. Remove from heat and skim off any foam that forms on the surface.
  5. Pour the hot marmalade into sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace. Seal immediately.
  6. Allow to cool at room temperature before storing in the refrigerator or pantry.

Notes

  • This marmalade can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 6 months.
  • For a spicier version, increase the amount of ginger to taste.
  • Substitute half of the sugar with honey for a different flavor profile.
