Description

The Pepperoni Pizza Burger with Extra Mozzarella Cheese is a mouthwatering fusion of flavors, featuring a juicy beef patty topped with gooey, melted mozzarella and crispy pepperoni. Each bite offers a delightful crunch from the pepperoni, balanced by the rich, savory taste of the beef and the creamy texture of the cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Burger:
    • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
    • 1 tsp garlic powder
    • 1 tsp onion powder
    • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
    • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the Toppings:
    • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
    • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
    • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
    • 4 burger buns
    • Fresh basil leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet to medium-high heat (about 375°F).
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each.
  4. Grill the patties for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them.
  5. Top each patty with 1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and a few slices of pepperoni. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  6. Toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Assemble the burgers by spreading pizza sauce on the bottom bun, adding the cheesy patty, and topping with fresh basil if desired. Place the top bun on and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Make-ahead: You can prepare the burger patties a day in advance and store them in the refrigerator.
  • Storage: Leftover burgers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
