Root Beer Float Shots

  • Author: Jessica
  • Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

These ingredients come together to form a powerhouse of flavor:

  • 🥃 1 oz vanilla vodka

  • 🥤 1 oz root beer schnapps (or chilled root beer soda for a non-alcoholic version)

  • 🍦 ½ oz Irish cream liqueur (like Baileys)

  • 🧊 Ice cubes for shaking

Garnish (Optional but Recommended):

  • 🍒 Maraschino cherry

  • 🍦 Small dollop of whipped cream

  • 🍫 Chocolate syrup drizzle (optional for glass rim)

Instructions

Step 1: Chill your glass

Place your shot glasses or mini dessert glasses in the freezer for 5–10 minutes so they’re nice and frosty when serving.

Step 2: Fill the shaker with ice

Add a handful of ice cubes to your cocktail shaker to chill the ingredients thoroughly.

Step 3: Add vanilla vodka and root beer schnapps

Pour in the vanilla vodka and root beer schnapps. This is your fizzy, flavorful base.

Step 4: Add Irish cream

Pour in the Irish cream liqueur to give your shot that signature creamy float vibe.

Step 5: Shake it all together

Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for about 10 seconds to fully chill and mix the ingredients.

Step 6: Strain into shot glasses

Strain the drink into chilled shot glasses or mini dessert glasses.

Step 7: Add the float toppings

Top each shot with a small swirl of whipped cream and a maraschino cherry. Optional: drizzle with chocolate syrup or rim the glass with crushed cookies or chocolate.

Notes

These shots are best served cold and fresh. Here are a few extra notes:

  • 🧊 Use crushed ice if you want your shot colder, faster.

  • 🍨 Use freshly made whipped cream if possible for the best flavor and texture.

  • 🥶 Don’t over-shake or your cream might get frothy.

  • 🥃 To layer the Irish cream gently, pour over the back of a spoon.
