- For the Dough:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F)
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- For the Garlic Rosemary Butter:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, and salt.
- Punch down the risen dough and divide it into small pieces. Dip each piece into the garlic rosemary butter and arrange them in a greased bundt pan.
- Once all pieces are arranged, pour any remaining garlic butter over the top. Let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- This bread can be made ahead and stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
- To freeze, wrap the cooled bread tightly in plastic wrap and then in aluminum foil for up to 3 months.
- For a vegan option, substitute butter with vegan margarine and use a plant-based milk for the dough.
