- 2 pounds potatoes, sliced
- 2 cups cooked ham, diced
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish, fanning them out.
- Sprinkle half of the diced ham, onion, and cheese over the potatoes.
- Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Repeat the layering process with the remaining ingredients.
- Whisk together the heavy cream and milk, then pour it evenly over the layered ingredients.
- Dot the top with butter.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Allowing the dish to sit before serving makes for cleaner slices. Customize with fresh herbs or additional veggies if desired.
