Sherbet Sparkle Splash Recipe

  • Author: Jessica
  • Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 quart rainbow sherbet (or use scoops of orange, lime, and raspberry individually)

  • 1 liter lemon-lime soda, chilled

  • 1 cup pineapple juice, chilled

  • 1/2 cup orange juice, chilled

  • 1/4 cup grenadine syrup

  • Optional: 1 cup vodka or coconut rum

  • Ice cubes, if serving immediately

Garnish Ideas:

  • Fresh orange slices

  • Maraschino cherries

  • Lime wheels

  • Colorful paper straws or drink umbrellas

Instructions

Step 1: Chill All Ingredients

Ensure that the lemon-lime soda, pineapple juice, and orange juice are all well chilled before assembling. You can refrigerate them for several hours in advance.

Step 2: Choose Your Serving Vessel

You can prepare the Sherbet Sparkle Splash in a large punch bowl, pitcher, or even individual glasses. For parties, a clear punch bowl or drink dispenser works best to showcase the color.

Step 3: Add Juices to the Bowl

Pour the pineapple juice and orange juice into the serving vessel. If you’re making the adult version, add the vodka or coconut rum at this stage.

Step 4: Add Lemon-Lime Soda

Gently pour in the lemon-lime soda. To retain the fizziness, tilt the bowl or pitcher slightly to reduce the bubbles as you pour.

Step 5: Add Sherbet Scoops

Using an ice cream scoop, add large scoops of rainbow sherbet into the drink. The sherbet will start to melt and create a frothy, colorful layer on top.

Step 6: Swirl in the Grenadine

Carefully drizzle grenadine over the sherbet. It will sink and then slowly swirl upward, creating a magical layered look.

Step 7: Add Ice (Optional)

If you plan to serve it immediately and want it colder, add some ice cubes to the bowl. However, if you’re prepping ahead of time, skip the ice to avoid dilution.

Step 8: Garnish and Serve

Top the punch with orange slices, lime wheels, and maraschino cherries. Add festive paper straws or cocktail umbrellas to individual cups.

Serve immediately and enjoy the sparkle.

Notes

The Sherbet Sparkle Splash is a perfect example of a mocktail-to-cocktail transformation. While it’s delicious as a non-alcoholic drink, you can elevate it for adult parties by adding:

  • Vodka – Classic and neutral, it doesn’t interfere with the fruity flavors.

  • Coconut Rum – Adds a tropical, creamy vibe that enhances the sherbet.

  • Peach Schnapps – For extra sweetness and fruity aroma.

If serving both kids and adults, make two separate batches: one non-alcoholic and one spiked, and label them clearly.
