Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a pot, bring water to a boil and add grits, cooking until thickened.
  2. Stir in cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  3. In a skillet, sauté bell pepper, onion, and garlic until soft.
  4. Add shrimp and cayenne pepper, cooking until shrimp are pink and cooked through.
  5. Combine shrimp mixture with grits and mix well.
  6. Allow the mixture to cool, then form into small bites.
  7. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the bites until golden brown on all sides.
  8. Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
