Smurfette’s Fizz Cocktail

  • Author: Jessica
  • Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 🥒 3-4 thin slices fresh cucumber (for that cool, crisp freshness)

  • 💙 1 oz blue curaçao (or 1 oz butterfly pea flower syrup for natural blue)

  • 🍸 2 oz gin or vodka (choose your spirit adventure!)

  • 🍋 1 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice (bright citrus zing)

  • 🌸 1/2 oz lavender syrup or violet syrup (for floral magic)

  • 🥤 3 oz sparkling water or club soda (to add fizz and lightness)

  • ❄️ Ice cubes (as needed)

  • 🍃 Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)

  • 🍋 Lemon wheel or cucumber ribbon (for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare your glass. Choose a tall Collins glass or a chic highball glass. Fill it halfway with ice cubes to keep your cocktail cold and refreshing.

Step 2: In a shaker, add the gin or vodka, blue curaçao (or butterfly pea syrup), freshly squeezed lemon juice, and lavender syrup. Add ice to the shaker until it’s about two-thirds full.

Step 3: Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill and blend all the flavors thoroughly.

Step 4: Strain the cocktail mixture into your prepared glass filled with ice. This ensures a smooth, crisp pour without shards of ice or muddled syrup.

Step 5: Top off the drink with sparkling water or club soda to add the characteristic fizz. Stir gently to combine.

Step 6: Garnish with fresh cucumber slices, a sprig of mint, and a lemon wheel or cucumber ribbon for a visual and aromatic boost.

Notes

  • The vivid blue color mostly comes from blue curaçao, a liqueur made with the dried peel of the laraha citrus fruit, or from butterfly pea flower syrup, which is a natural and caffeine-free option. The latter will change color when acid (like lemon juice) is added, sometimes turning purple — embrace the color magic!

  • Adjust sweetness by tweaking the amount of lavender syrup. Too much can overpower the delicate citrus and cucumber.
