- 3 ripe pears, peeled and sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 pre-made pie crust
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon coarse sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced pears with lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour until well combined.
- Roll out the pie crust on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Arrange the pear mixture in the center of the crust, leaving a 2-inch border around the edges.
- Fold the edges of the crust over the pears, pleating as necessary.
- Brush the crust with the beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the pears are tender.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
- Feel free to add walnuts or pecans for added crunch.
