Description
Make spooky Spider Bite Shots with vodka, cranberry, and spice, easy, fun, and perfect for Halloween or any party with a kick!
Ingredients
These ingredients come together to form a powerhouse of flavor and spooky fun:
-
🍸 1 oz vodka or silver tequila
-
🍹 1 oz cranberry juice (for blood-red color)
-
🌶️ 1/2 oz spicy liqueur (like Fireball cinnamon whiskey or a chili-infused tequila)
-
🍋 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
-
🍬 1/2 oz simple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
-
🕷️ Gummy spiders or red sugar crystals for garnish
-
🌶️ Pinch of chili powder or cayenne (optional for extra heat)
-
🧊 Ice
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Glasses
Chill your shot glasses in the freezer for about 10 minutes to get them nice and cold. You can also rim the glasses with red sugar or chili powder for added effect.
Step 2: Mix the Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine vodka (or tequila), cranberry juice, spicy liqueur, lime juice, and simple syrup if using. Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well chilled and mixed.
Step 3: Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into the chilled shot glasses, filling each about 3/4 full.
Step 4: Garnish
Add a gummy spider to each glass or sprinkle a pinch of chili powder or red sugar crystals on top to create the “bite” effect. For extra flair, you can also thread gummy spiders onto cocktail picks to rest over the rim.
Step 5: Enjoy Responsibly
Serve immediately and encourage guests to toast to spooky fun!
Notes
- Use fresh lime juice for the best tang and brightness.
- Adjust the level of spice carefully—start mild and add more if you want that real bite sensation.
- Always chill your glasses to keep shots refreshing and to slow down the heat.
- If you’re prepping for a large group, mix the ingredients in a pitcher and shake well before serving in batches to keep the flavors consistent.
