Indulge in the rich, creamy texture of shell pasta enveloped in a velvety garlic butter Alfredo sauce, perfectly complemented by tender, juicy steak bites. Each bite bursts with savory flavors, creating a delightful harmony that dances on your palate.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Steak Bites:
    • 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the Shell Pasta:
    • 8 oz shell pasta
    • 4 cups water
    • 1 teaspoon salt
  • For the Garlic Butter Alfredo Sauce:
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
    • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and the shell pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. While the pasta cooks, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steak cubes with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the steak bites to the skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Pour in 1 cup of heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese and 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg, mixing until smooth and creamy.
  6. Add the cooked shell pasta and steak bites to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

  • This dish can be made ahead of time; simply store the pasta and sauce separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently on the stove over low heat, adding a splash of cream if the sauce thickens too much.
  • For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream and use grilled chicken instead of steak.
