Ingredients
These ingredients come together to form a powerhouse of flavor:
-
???? 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries (hulled)
-
???? 1 ripe banana (the riper, the sweeter!)
-
???? 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream (or frozen yogurt)
-
???? 3/4 cup milk (dairy or plant-based like almond/oat)
-
???? 1/4 cup heavy cream or half-and-half (for extra richness)
-
???? (Optional) 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup for added sweetness
-
❄️ Ice cubes, as needed for thicker texture
-
???? Whipped cream, for topping
-
???????? Sliced strawberry and banana, for garnish
-
???? (Optional) Fresh mint leaves, for serving
Instructions
Step 1: Prep the ingredients
Wash and hull the strawberries. Peel and slice the banana. If using fresh fruit, you can freeze it ahead of time for a thicker shake.
Step 2: Blend the base
In a high-powered blender, add:
-
1 cup strawberries
-
1 banana
-
½ cup vanilla ice cream
-
¾ cup milk
-
¼ cup heavy cream
-
1 tbsp honey (if using)
-
A few ice cubes
Step 3: Blend until smooth
Blend everything on high speed for 30–60 seconds until the mixture is smooth, creamy, and frothy. Adjust consistency with more milk (to thin) or ice (to thicken).
Step 4: Taste and adjust
Taste your shake! If it needs more sweetness, add a splash more honey or a dash of vanilla extract.
Step 5: Serve in style
Pour into chilled tall glasses. Top generously with whipped cream, sliced fruit, and a mint leaf for that café-worthy finish.
Notes
This shake is uncooked, but a few blending notes help perfect it:
-
Use frozen fruit for a thicker, colder shake without watering it down
-
Don’t over-blend, as the cream can start to thin out
-
Add liquids first in the blender for smoother consistency
-
Use a high-powered blender if adding extras like peanut butter or protein powder
