Sunset Beach Bucket Blast

  • Author: Jessica
  • Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup tropical fruit punch (such as Hawaiian Punch)

  • 1/2 cup coconut rum (Malibu or similar)

  • 1/4 cup peach schnapps

  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice

  • 1/4 cup orange juice

  • 1/2 oz grenadine (for that classic sunset effect)

  • 1/4 cup lemon-lime soda (Sprite or 7UP)

  • Ice (enough to fill your bucket)

Optional Add-ins & Garnishes:

  • Gummy candies: Swedish Fish, peach rings, gummy sharks

  • Fresh fruit: Orange slices, maraschino cherries

  • Candy skewers or sour straws

  • Paper umbrella or mini shovel straw

Instructions

Step 1: Choose Your Bucket

  • Find a clean 32–40 oz plastic sand bucket or beach-themed container.

  • Rinse it well before use, especially if it’s not food-grade.

Step 2: Fill with Ice

  • Add ice to your bucket until it’s about 2/3 full. This helps keep the drink chilled and gives it volume.

Step 3: Mix the Cocktail Base

In a separate large measuring cup or cocktail shaker, combine:

  • 1 cup tropical fruit punch

  • 1/2 cup coconut rum

  • 1/4 cup peach schnapps

  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice

  • 1/4 cup orange juice

Stir gently to blend all the juices and alcohol together.

Step 4: Assemble the Drink

  • Pour the mixed liquid over the ice in your beach bucket.

  • Carefully add the 1/4 cup lemon-lime soda on top. This adds a fizzy layer of brightness.

Step 5: Add the Sunset Effect

  • Slowly pour 1/2 oz of grenadine down the side of the bucket. It will sink to the bottom and create a beautiful red-to-orange gradient—your “sunset” in a glass.

Step 6: Decorate Like You’re on Vacation

  • Add gummy candies on top of the ice: Swedish Fish, peach rings, or gummy sharks work great.

  • Slide in a couple of orange slices or a maraschino cherry.

  • Skewer some sour straws with gummy candy and rest them over the rim of the bucket.

  • Add a paper umbrella or a fun straw (like a mini shovel-shaped one) for the ultimate beachy presentation.

Notes

The Sunset Beach Bucket Blast was inspired by beach cocktails popular in vacation destinations like Florida, the Caribbean, and California. These oversized drinks are traditionally served in quirky vessels like mason jars, coconuts, and beach pails. This drink balances sweetness with citrus and rum for a nostalgic and refreshing blend. The grenadine not only adds visual appeal but also gives a subtle cherry flavor to the bottom sips.
