Tequila Stardust Gummy Wands

  • Author: Jessica

Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to conjure these shimmering, citrus-infused treats:

Base Ingredients (Yields 20–24 gummies, depending on mold size)

  • 1 cup tequila (silver or blanco for best results—smooth and clear)

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup (for elasticity and smooth texture)

  • 3 tablespoons unflavored gelatin (about 3 packets)

  • 1 teaspoon lime juice (fresh-squeezed preferred)

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (adds brightness and depth)

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (balances the sweetness)

Finishing Touch

  • Edible glitter (silver, gold, or holographic for a real stardust effect)

Instructions

Follow these instructions carefully for best texture and flavor:

Step 1: Bloom the Gelatin

  1. In a medium-sized saucepan (off the heat), pour the water.

  2. Sprinkle the gelatin evenly over the water’s surface and let it sit for 5–10 minutes.

    • This is called “blooming” and allows the gelatin to absorb water and become jelly-like.

  3. While it’s blooming, mix your tequila, lime juice, lemon juice, and salt in a separate cup.

Step 2: Dissolve the Gelatin

  1. Turn the heat to medium-low and gently stir the gelatin mixture until fully dissolved.

  2. Add in the sugar and corn syrup.

  3. Continue stirring for 3–4 minutes until the sugar dissolves and the mixture becomes glossy.

  4. Do not allow the mixture to boil—this will destroy the alcohol later.

Step 3: Combine & Remove from Heat

  1. Remove the pan from heat.

  2. Let it cool for 1–2 minutes, then add the tequila mixture.

  3. Stir gently until fully incorporated.

Step 4: Mold the Gummies

  1. Pour the mixture into silicone molds. Use a dropper for precision.

  2. Optional: If adding glitter, sprinkle a little into the mold before pouring and again lightly on top.

  3. Let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes, then transfer to the refrigerator.

Step 5: Chill & Set

  1. Refrigerate for at least 2–3 hours, or until fully set and springy to the touch.

  2. Once firm, gently pop gummies out of the mold.

Step 6: Dust & Decorate

  1. For maximum sparkle, roll gummies lightly in edible glitter before serving.

  2. Thread them onto skewers or cocktail picks to create magical “wands.”
