Make these vibrant Tequila Sunrise Boozy Popsicles! A fun, frozen twist on the classic cocktail with tequila, orange juice, and grenadine. Perfect for parties!
Ingredients
Makes about 10 popsicles, depending on mold size.
🧊 Base Mix:
-
2 cups orange juice (preferably pulp-free for smooth texture)
-
1/2 cup silver tequila
-
2 tablespoons lime juice (optional, for brightness)
-
1–2 tablespoons simple syrup or agave nectar (adjust to taste)
🔴 Grenadine Layer:
-
1/4 cup grenadine syrup
🍓 Optional Add-ins:
-
Fresh fruit slices (orange, strawberry, pineapple, or cherry)
-
Edible flowers for visual flair
-
Dash of chili or Tajín for a spicy twist
Instructions
🔸 Step 1: Mix the Base
In a pitcher or large measuring cup, combine:
-
Orange juice
-
Tequila
-
Lime juice
-
Sweetener (if desired)
Stir well and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to chill and blend the flavors.
🔸 Step 2: Layer with Grenadine
Pour about 1/2 tablespoon of grenadine into the bottom of each mold. It should settle nicely at the base to mimic the “sunrise.”
Tip: Use an eyedropper or spoon for cleaner layering.
🔸 Step 3: Add the Tequila-Orange Mixture
Slowly pour the tequila-orange mix on top of the grenadine layer, leaving about 1/4″ headspace in each mold. Pour gently so the grenadine stays at the bottom and doesn’t blend.
🔸 Step 4: Add Fruit or Garnish (Optional)
Drop in a slice of orange, a halved cherry, or a thin piece of strawberry into each mold for an extra pop of color and texture.
🔸 Step 5: Insert Sticks and Freeze
Add the popsicle sticks and freeze for at least 6–8 hours, or preferably overnight, until fully solid.
Notes
✨ Serve on a tray filled with crushed ice.
🌿 Garnish with mint leaves, lime wedges, or edible flowers.
🎨 Use colorful sticks for an extra fun pop.
