Ingredients

  • Frozen French fries – 1 bag
  • Tteokbokki rice cakes – 1 cup
  • Fish cakes – 1/2 cup, sliced
  • Gochujang (Korean chili paste) – 2 tablespoons
  • Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes) – 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce – 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar – 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions – 2, chopped
  • Sesame seeds – 1 tablespoon
  • Cheese (mozzarella or cheddar) – 1 cup, shredded

Instructions

  1. Cook the frozen French fries according to package instructions until crispy.
  2. In a pan, add water and bring it to a boil. Add the tteokbokki rice cakes and fish cakes, cooking for about 5 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix gochujang, gochugaru, soy sauce, and sugar to create the sauce.
  4. Drain the tteokbokki and fish cakes, then add the sauce to the pan, stirring to coat evenly.
  5. Once the fries are done, place them on a serving plate.
  6. Top the fries with the tteokbokki mixture and sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  7. Broil in the oven for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
