Tteokbokki Loaded Fries are a delicious fusion dish that combines crispy fries with spicy Korean tteokbokki, creating a unique and flavorful experience.
Ingredients
- Frozen French fries – 1 bag
- Tteokbokki rice cakes – 1 cup
- Fish cakes – 1/2 cup, sliced
- Gochujang (Korean chili paste) – 2 tablespoons
- Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes) – 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce – 1 tablespoon
- Sugar – 1 teaspoon
- Green onions – 2, chopped
- Sesame seeds – 1 tablespoon
- Cheese (mozzarella or cheddar) – 1 cup, shredded
Instructions
- Cook the frozen French fries according to package instructions until crispy.
- In a pan, add water and bring it to a boil. Add the tteokbokki rice cakes and fish cakes, cooking for about 5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix gochujang, gochugaru, soy sauce, and sugar to create the sauce.
- Drain the tteokbokki and fish cakes, then add the sauce to the pan, stirring to coat evenly.
- Once the fries are done, place them on a serving plate.
- Top the fries with the tteokbokki mixture and sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
- Broil in the oven for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or less gochujang.
- For a vegetarian version, omit fish cakes or use plant-based alternatives.
- Serve immediately for the best texture.
