Tuscany Twilight Cocktail Recipe

  • Author: Jessica
  • Total Time: 5–7 minutes

Description

Step 1: Chill Your Glass

Place your chosen glass (stemmed wine glass, coupe, or tumbler) in the freezer or fill with ice water. A cold glass ensures the cocktail stays refreshingly cool and presents beautifully.

Step 2: Shake the Mix

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine:

  • 1 oz blackberry liqueur

  • ½ oz gin

  • ½ oz fresh lemon juice

  • ½ oz simple syrup (optional but adds balance)

Shake vigorously for 15 seconds until the mix is thoroughly chilled and slightly frothy.

Step 3: Blend in the Wine

Add the 1½ oz of red wine to the shaker. Gently stir (don’t shake) to preserve the wine’s structure and create a smooth integration.

Step 4: Serve It Up

Strain the mixture into your chilled glass over fresh ice. If you prefer a stemmed experience, strain without ice for a more elegant appearance.

Step 5: Add Sparkle (Optional)

Top with a splash of soda water or tonic for a subtle effervescent lift. This variation makes the drink feel lighter and adds texture.

Step 6: Garnish to Impress

Finish with a few blackberries on a cocktail pick or float a rosemary sprig on top. Gently rub the rosemary before garnishing to release its oils for a more aromatic experience.

Ingredients

  • 1½ oz red wine (Chianti, fruity red blend, or Sangiovese recommended)

  • ½ oz fresh lemon juice

  • ½ oz simple syrup (optional, adjust to taste based on your wine)

  • Splash of soda water or tonic (optional for added sparkle)

  • Ice cubes

  • Garnish: Fresh blackberries or a rosemary sprig

Notes

The Tuscany Twilight is not your average red wine cocktail. It’s a composition—layered, balanced, and evocative. Each sip brings a burst of dark berries, herbaceous tones, and citrus clarity. It mirrors the depth and artistry of Italian aperitivo culture but adds a contemporary cocktail twist. Whether you enjoy it slowly on a terrace or as a bold pairing to dinner, it becomes part of the atmosphere—elegant, natural, memorable.
